About Dan McNeil
Helping nonprofits build stability, capacity, and momentum
For more than twenty years, I’ve helped nonprofits navigate growth, transition, and the complexities of leading mission-driven work. I’m passionate about helping small and mid-sized nonprofits clarify their goals, strengthen their operations, and create systems that allow their teams to thrive.
My Background
As the former Executive Director of Spring Forward, where I served for ten years, I led the organization through significant expansion while collaborating with funders, local government leaders, and community partners. Under my leadership, Spring Forward launched nationally recognized academic programs, secured major grant funding, and built the infrastructure for long-term success.
I’ve also held leadership roles across the nonprofit sector, including serving as Development Director at the Figge Art Museum and Vice President of Marketing at the Putnam Museum. This broad experience gives me a practical, solutions-driven approach to supporting organizations.
I hold a Master’s in Community and Economic Development and currently serve as the Sixth Ward Alderman for the City of Moline, continuing my commitment to developing strong, vibrant communities.
Why I Do This Work
I believe nonprofits are the heart of thriving communities but too often, their staff are stretched thin, juggling roles that should belong to three different people. My goal is to lighten that load.
I love “talking shop,” untangling challenges, and helping teams work smarter, not harder. I’m not here to replace your staff or board; I’m here to partner with them, provide clarity, and create strategies that free up time, reduce stress, and move your mission forward.
